On the other hand, if your itinerary is more flexible or your daily usage varies, a total data plan may be more cost-effective. For example, if you plan to stay in Paris for three days and then go to the Alps, where your data usage will suddenly decrease, choosing a total data plan can help avoid wasting the daily fixed data.
Network coverage in major cities and rural areas of France
- Paris, Lyon, Marseille, and other major cities → Good 5G coverage, with no issues for daily use or navigation.
- TGV High-Speed Rail Line → Generally has signal, but signal strength may fluctuate; it is recommended to download offline maps.
- Alpine Region → Mainly 4G, with some remote areas possibly having no signal; make sure to download offline maps before entering the mountains.
