旅遊上網卡常見問題

Buying & payment

What payment methods do you accept?

All prices are in HKD. Hong Kong / mainland China customers pay via KPay (FPS, PayMe, Alipay, WeChat Pay, Visa/Mastercard); customers elsewhere pay via Stripe with any major credit card — your bank converts the currency automatically. Card details are handled directly by KPay/Stripe and never touch our site.

Are there any extra fees?

No. The HKD price shown is the final charge — no service fee, no FX surcharge. Physical SIM delivery within Hong Kong is free too.

Can I buy several at once?

Yes — pick a quantity in the order form. Each is an independent SIM (each eSIM has its own QR code), so you can share them with travel companions.

Where do I see my order after buying?

After payment you're taken to your order page, and an order link is emailed to you. Use that link any time to check status and the QR code — no account needed.

eSIM activation & install

When does my eSIM activate?

Right after payment the system requests a new SIM from the supplier, normally done within 30 seconds. The QR code appears on your order page and is emailed to you.

Why haven't I received my QR code yet?

If the supplier is temporarily down, provisioning fails and the system retries automatically while alerting our local team. You can refresh your order page any time. If it's been over 10 minutes, WhatsApp 5745 9845.

Does my phone support eSIM?

Dial *#06# — if you see an EID entry, you're supported. iPhone XS/XR or later, Samsung Galaxy S20 or later and Google Pixel 3 or later mostly support eSIM. See the “Compatible devices” page for details.

How many times can the QR code be scanned?

Usually only once. Don't delete the eSIM profile after installing — a deleted profile can't be restored and you'd need to buy again.

When should I install it?

Install on Wi-Fi before you leave. Installing doesn't start the clock — validity starts the day you first connect to the local network. If you wait until landing, you're stuck needing internet to get internet.

Installed but no internet?

Nine times out of ten, Data Roaming is off. Settings → Mobile Data → select the eSIM → enable Data Roaming, then restart. Still stuck? Manually select the carrier named on your plan under network selection.

Will my Hong Kong number still get WhatsApp and bank OTPs?

Yes. With dual SIM, keep your Hong Kong SIM enabled (but turn its Data Roaming off — data goes through the travel eSIM). Your HK number keeps receiving SMS, so bank OTPs arrive. WhatsApp is tied to your number, not the SIM, and works over the travel data. Receiving SMS is normally free — confirm with your HK carrier.

Should I delete the eSIM when I get home?

Once the plan ends the eSIM is inert either way — keeping it costs nothing. Delete it to tidy up if you like, but deletion is irreversible and an expired plan cannot be reused. Some card brands support topping up for a later trip — check under My SIM Cards before deleting.

We bought several eSIMs for the family — how do we split the QR codes?

Each eSIM has its own QR code, and each QR installs on exactly one phone. All QRs are on your order page and confirmation email — forward the order link and let each person scan their own code on their own phone. ⚠️ Never scan the same QR on two phones — the second will fail.

Plans & data

“1GB/day” vs “10GB total” — what's the difference?

Daily plans give a fixed daily allowance; speed drops when you use it up and resets the next day — good for long trips with steady usage. Total-data plans share one pool across the trip; use more some days, less others. Once it's gone, you'd buy another.

Is “unlimited” really full speed throughout?

No. Almost every “unlimited” plan on the market is full speed for the first X GB, then unlimited at reduced speed (typically 128–384kbps). We state this plainly in each plan description — read before you buy.

How are days counted?

From the day the SIM/eSIM first connects to the local network — not the purchase date, not the install date. Buying and installing early costs you nothing.

Can I share a hotspot?

Most plans support hotspot sharing. A few don't — check the individual plan description.

Do I get a local phone number? Can I make calls?

The vast majority of travel plans are data-only: no local number, no calls or SMS. WhatsApp, Signal, FaceTime and other internet calling work fine. The few number-included plans say so in their description.

Can one SIM cover several countries?

Yes — multi-country plans (Europe, Southeast Asia etc.) work across borders on one SIM. The “Coverage” line on each plan lists every included country.

How many GB do I need for a 5-day trip?

Messaging, maps and browsing only: roughly 500MB–1GB a day. Frequent photo uploads and social feeds: 1–2GB a day. Heavy video: 2GB+ a day. For a light 5-day trip, 3–5GB is usually enough — use our Data Calculator to estimate from your own habits.

Visiting two or three countries — single-country or multi-country SIM?

One country only: a single-country plan is usually cheapest. Crossing two or three (Japan+Korea, multi-country Europe): pick a multi-country plan — one SIM, no swapping, cheaper than buying one per country. Check the plan's “Coverage” list against your itinerary before buying.

Do mainland China plans need a VPN?

Travel SIMs are roaming plans — data exits through an overseas gateway, so Google, WhatsApp and Instagram generally work directly with no separate VPN. Individual plan behaviour is as stated in its description; please observe local laws and regulations while travelling.

What can I still do at 128kbps after throttling?

At 128–384kbps: WhatsApp text and email still work; maps load slowly; photos and social feeds are painful; video is effectively out. Throttled speed is an emergency fallback, not normal usage — if unsure of your usage, size up or choose a daily plan.

Can I buy now and use it on a later trip?

Days only start counting when the eSIM first connects to a local network — but every plan has its own activation deadline, shown on the plan card and your order page. Miss the deadline and the plan expires unused. Buying early is fine; just check the deadline covers your travel dates.

Physical SIM

How long does delivery take?

We mail within Hong Kong (free) after payment, with a tracking number by email. Usually 1–3 working days.

Do you ship outside Hong Kong?

Currently Hong Kong addresses only. For overseas delivery, choose an eSIM instead.

Leaving soon — what if the SIM won't arrive in time?

Choose an eSIM: it activates right after payment with no shipping wait. If your phone doesn't support eSIM and you're in a rush, WhatsApp 5745 9845 and we'll figure something out.

Orders & aftercare

Something's wrong with my order — what now?

Check your order link any time. If activation hits a problem, our system alerts the local team automatically. Need a human now: WhatsApp 5745 9845 or email [email protected].

Can I get a refund?

Once an eSIM is provisioned (a SIM has been allocated by the supplier) it can't be refunded. Physical SIMs can be cancelled before they ship; once shipped they can't be returned. Bought the wrong thing? WhatsApp 5745 9845 immediately — before provisioning or shipping, it can still be fixed.

Wrong destination / days — can I change it?

Not after the eSIM is provisioned. Please double-check destination, days and device compatibility before ordering — and ask us on WhatsApp first if unsure.
